tragicomedy

Someones getting a good laugh out of this and it’s not us:

We don’t get the dream house on Katherine, but because the Weirs do, we get to hear about how awesome it is to live there.

We struggle to make ends meet while the bozos next door are succeeding with alarming velocity.

We get a $100 per month rent increase so our property managers can use our roof as a deck and dog run.

We can’t find a decent place under $2000, that will allow dogs but our property owners have no problem dropping by J and K’s place with their two giant airedales and parking them under our bedroom window alongside J and K’s yippy dogs.

We pray and pray and pray and every day it gets a little worse…

punk rock

There is something so uniquely satisfying about singing along to Black Flag’s “Rise Above,”  full volume, after 10 p.m, with the closest window to J and K’s place wide open.

Roll call: State of the Union

So, who watched and what did you think? I was somewhat shocked that there was no mention of those still recovering from Hurricane Katrina.

slavery

Tomorrow night, Wed. Jan. 24, CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 will air a special about people enslaved around the world. I expect it to be informative, Anderson Cooper tends to go deep.

muthalode

 closemuthalode.jpg

So, I’ve got my WoW dwarf priest almost to level 15 (which is still very low in this game) and I’ve discovered that the priest is the hardest character to learn, level and use. I still love my priest and she very much reflects one aspect of my personality but I needed some balance and frankly just some kick-ass fun, so I created “muthalode” a dark-skinned female warrior who I got to level 7 in one night. Muthalode is already popular cuz she’s hot and powerful. Plus she gets to wear chain mail. What’s better than that?

Since reading 2 Corinthians 12: 7-10, I think I’ll at least pause one more time…

let the chips fall where they may

When it comes to dealing with our wretched, urbilly (urban hillbilly) neighbors, I probably couldn’t be accused of being too nice. But, what they don’t know is that I’ve been holding back for months from filing a complaint with the city for all the unpermitted demo and construction. A while back I had a conversation with a city planner and she told me that much of what they’ve done to turn the basement into an office, is unpermitted and illegal. They can be fined and depending on the codes, made to return the space back to its original condition. (snarky smile). Additionally, they’re running a two businesses now out of their unit. One has employees who constantly come and go, stand in front of my door and windows talking on their phones and smoke directly in front of my bedroom window. It doesn’t matter how often we ask them to please not do it, they repeat their shitty behavior again and again. Now K’s son has a wood cutting biz and there’s about 40 bundles of wood stacked along the wall near the carport. They’ve turned the whole property into one giant fire hazard. I’m willing to bet that this property is not zoned for use as an office with employees. In fact I’m banking on it. So today, I’m thinking I’ll be heading to city hall to file that complaint. After all, I’m very concerned about the safety of all the tenants. (wink)

Thank you Suzanna (the coolest person I’ve never met).

Five things you don’t know about me:

1. When I was little I was deathly afraid of cactus and would hallucinate hundreds of them in my bedroom.

2. I’m adopted.

3. Madonna once gave me personal advice.

4. On a visit to Rome, I was blessed by the Pope.

5. My WoW character is named “Mailords.”

I tag: Cynthia, Alison H. and Jared B.
